In Tehuelches mothertongue, the word 'Aylen' means 'ember' and 'Aike' means 'place'. Aylen-Aike is a 'warm place'.
Our hostel has a great panoramic view, from which you can see the hill by itself, the Torre (Tower) hill, the Del Bosque (Forest) range and the grand Fitz Roy.
Aylen-Aike is located by the riverside -De las Vueltas- having access to the small forest of ires a type of beech on its slope, and at the front, a wall made up of the mountain range of the Condors.
El Chaltn is a place with glaciers, mountains, rivers, forests, and with the giant Fitz of all times at the front. Patagonia and specially El Chaltn are places to visit, admire, love and respect, places to contact nature and feel really pleased... and to listen to the wind.

This place is very chill and clean. Beds were made every day and the showers were well maintained as well. Very easy to meet people at this place. Location is convenient.

We enjoyed staying here! Only 9 min walk from the bus station. Close to the main street. The owner is very friendly and advises on your hikes. Very relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are basic but sufficient. There's a small locker. There's being cleaned every day by a lovely lady and you receive a towel with arrival. Only disadvantage I found: top bunk bed doesn't have any plugs or shelf, but it does have a light.

I would recommend staying in this hostel. Located nearby the start of all hikes. Relaxed, social athmosphere. Easy to meet fellow travelers. Friendly host, helpful with information about the hikes and weather forecast. Kitchen is well-equipped, comfy beds. No lockers to keep your valuables though.
