Let me start with saying that the placement is amazing. It smack in the middel of dtla and only a five minute walk from the central metro station. The hostel is located in quite a fancy and I would say 'hip' hotel. Because of this you do have a pool, and cocktail bar (public, so not always space) but definitely missed the kitchen/dinning place and honestly to overall ambience was not that hostel like. If you are from the fancy cocktail parties and lounging by the pool this is the place for you.

I had a transit room it seems. Every day new people from a bus tour. They had to leave very early in the morning. So every day as from 4 in the morning noise in the room because they had to get ready, zippers from bags, shower, toilet etc.
Impossible to get a descent sleep.
Very nice location, good beds awesome building. The pool on the roof was the best.

As I arrived in LA one day earlier than my friends, I had to book a cheap stay in a dorm for one night. What I got was way more than what I paid for. The personel was cool, the room was clean and nicely decorated, the lounge was chill & when I was having a bad time from a sun stroke & my jet lag, the waiters really took care of me. If I ever come back to LA, they can expect me.
