Loft 109 started out as the local cinema and was turned into a city apartment before becoming a backpackers hostel around 2000.
With 2 levels and 3 balconies, a comfy lounge area and quiet bedrooms with lockers, you will be able to find something that will suit you any time of the day. Laundry facilities are available, as is a small fully equipped kitchen. Fridge & freezer compliment the food storage spaces. DVDs, puzzles and board games are available.
Loft 109 has mixed dorms with 7, 6 and 8 beds and a female only 6 bed dorm. We have 2 Private rooms both Double/Triple with a double bed and single bunk above. One Double has its own Balcony. All rooms are shared facilities. All dorm beds have lockers in the room, pillow ,bottom and top sheet supplied, with a duvet . Double rooms are supplied also with fresh towels, small fridge, tea and coffee. Attractions we are able to help you with are Swimming with the Dolphins, Tandem Sky Diving, White Island Tours, Glow Worm Kayaking, friendly staff to help navigate around our district.
Reception Hours are between 8:00 & 8.00 pm.
Check in between 1.00pm and 8.00pm -ONLY
$10.00 LATE CHECK IN FEE APPLIES AFTER 9.30PM -UNLESS BY ARRANGEMENT.
We now have FREE Coffee & Tea.

When booking for 3 or more people a bond paid in cash is required, if there are no damages this bond is returned in full.

De kamers waren netjes, maar erg gedateerd. De woonkamer was niet echt schoon en ook gedateerd, net als de keuken. Overal op de muur stonden regels die je moest opvolgen en de eigenaar is erg gesteld op zn regels. Als je na de Check out tijd nog wil wachten in de woonkamer voor bv je bus, dan betaal je minimaal 5 dollar. Dit vond ik niet echt gastvrij.

Worst hostel in New Zealand! Bed bugs bit me all night long and had over 60 bites from one night, do not stay here! Staff were rude when contacting about problems and music played from a bar across the street until 2:00am

Filthy and disgusting is a understatement! There were dead bugs (flys moths plus some, there was also rubbish under my blankets 2, the shower would only go cold for me and it had no shower head. The rules are out of this world I actually felt like I was staying at home with my folks... There's bugger all power sockets to charge things and the top bunk almost comes on top of you when climbing up, the staff member that was on was rude and unapproachable. Plus alot more that won't fit in here
