Nice hot showers, proper drying room with extras (newspapers to stuff your shoes with, hot air fan). Perfect wifi. Good kitchen and a great location (right next to the river and 3 minute walk from the central street). Staff was friendly and helpful (inquired about parking and handed me a free parking disc too). I really enjoyed my stay here.

Gorgeous location, friendly, helpful staff. Swam in the river, walked, biked and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Would have scored a 10 but the people in the room next to us had been smoking and the room and corridor stank of cigarettes. However this is not the hostels fault and they did ask them to leave. Everything else was pretty much 10 out of 10. Staff were informative, helpful and friendly. The location could not have been better for a hike up Skiddaw. I will return with my family.
