For a positive, I found the majority of the staff to be incredibly kind - the staff noted that my upstairs neighbour had been noisy on previous evenings and immediately attempted to rectify the situation when I called again, twice (I had 9AM starts in an office 40 mins away so didn't appreciate being kept awake until 1am+). However, as I was on a budget, I was incredibly disappointed with how misleading having 'self-catering facilities' stated on the website was. Only microwave + kettle ://

Simple accommodation but good value for money. Breakfast was a bonus. Good location for Cowgate area of Edinburgh but bit of a trek to Princes Street area
