Agartha Hostel and Camping

As solo traveller i found the location a bit unhandy. it was a 45 min walk to the city centre, around 20 min to a mini market. if you wish to stay in a calm nature surrounded area then its good. comfortable bed and beautiful balcony to chill on. as it is in someones house i found it a bit awkward at times but thats probably just me :) if you actively ask things to the host he can help you (he helped me with a cofee tour) but he wasnt super pro active.

I had a nice stay at Agartha hostel. Amir and his mum try to make everyone feel at home. Some moments, this welcome feeling was a bit hijacked by comments and stereotypes, expressed by the host. this made me feel uncomfortable. Even after mentioning this, the situation didn’t change. Nevertheless I had a nice stay at his place. Because the hostel is his house, it has everything you need: a good kitchen, nice livingroom and a beautiful terrace to chill on. It’s a nice neighbourhood, a bit outside of town. Yo

While this may have been a good place to stay at one point, I wouldn’t recommend it now for a few reasons detailed below - Cleanliness: I get that this is hostel life, but the condition of the hostel was very poor. There was food all other the table and kitchen, which led to more bugs entering the hostel. He said he was going to clean our bathroom, but that never happened. My friend ended up sick the entire time we were there, but she’d feel better when we left the hostel for the day and all her symptoms cleared up after we checked out, so there may be mold in the walls that was contributing to how she was feeling. Location: This is a 40 minute uphill walk from town. The cheap transportation the owner had in prior comments stopped working with him (as he said himself), so the only option is calling a taxi or walking. The taxi ride is around $4 per person each way. This added up quick, offsetting the cost we were saving by not staying close to town. We were really looking forward to this stay due to the community & family feel mentioned by prior guests, but we were left disappointed.
