The Guiana Hostel is located in a newly built building in the old town of Ponferrada, a few meters from the Castillo de los Templarios and other tourist attractions in the city.
Albergue Guiana is just 2 minutes' walk from the Templars Castle, Encina Basilica and the Museum of Bierzo y de la Radio.
At the hostel we offer shared and private accommodation. It has common areas such as the games room, bicycle garage, laundry, dining room, kitchen with fridge and microwave. Private rooms have a private bathroom with a bath or shower and free shower gel. They also feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Studios have a small kitchen area for private use.

this hostel was a gem after cycling all day. the amazing bike storage was amazing. lots of tools and bike equipment to use for maintenance. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and modern.

The only people staying here are pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago - just FYI. As such, there’s no social atmosphere. Lots of middle-aged people. The doors of the rooms do not have locks on them. Reception closes at midnight (AKA there’s a curfew). Do not provide towels or blankets. Very clean, but honestly a strange experience. Only one shower in an 8 bed female dorm.

Very clean and our dorm had ensuite toilet and shower plus separate sinks. Each bunk had its own locker to keep your bags safe overnight. Each bunk had its own electric plug and a little bench big enough for charging your phone. They also had lamps but the switch was broken so not able to be used. Kitchen not for use after 9am. We had a later start that day so we wanted to get a coffee and make some toast but it was all closed off when we got there. Would be better to leave open for use until 10
