This hostel has a cosy, relaxed and home-like atmosphere with a pool and BBQ area set in a tropical oasis. It's located across the road from Cairns Central railway station and shopping centre, about 15 minutes walk from the Esplanade and the lagoon. Hostelworld guests say the staff are 'really friendly, helpful and full of information' and that 'because the common area is so nice, it's easy to meet people hanging out there’.

Geweldig nieuws! Dreamtime is door de bezoekers van Hostelworld gekozen als nummer 1 Hostel in Australie en als tweede in heel Oceanie!! Dank voor alle reizigers die ons afgelopen jaar bezocht hebben en de moeite hebben genomen hun mening achter te laten. En natuiurlijk kijken wij uit naar alle nieuwe reizigers die ons binnenkort zullen bezoeken.

Room was good, with nice ensuite bathroom. No lockers, which I still think it's weird for a hostel. Roommates were very messy, but can't blaim the hostel for that. Relaxed atmosphere. Near railway station and supermarket, but 15 minutes walk to the Esplanade
