The santa monaca hostel has been running for 40 years, the service, the price, the hospitable atmosphere, and the young dynamic management all make Santa Monaca one of the best known and most popular hostels in Florence.
The hostel is located in an ancient convent of the 15th century in the historical centre of Florence in the quarter of Santo Spirito.
The main museums and monuments are within a few minutes walking distance, as is the city's main railway station.
As this is an independent youth hostel there is no age limit and a yha card is not required.

or by e-mail at least 48H before the day of arrival (by 12 am of 2 days before).
In any case after that time the cost of the first night will be charged on the credit card for as no show.

The hostel was okey for only one night in Florence.
But the atmosphere in the hostel was not good. The hostel seems focused on having as many guests as possible to make as much money as possible.

Good hostel, quite a bit of a walk from the center. Friendly staff and large rooms. In general, a very big hostel I should say!
Met some nice people, had a good time!

The hostel is very nice very good atmosphere. The only problem was the curfew, I went out one night and the three o clock is a crappy time for a curfew. The personal was really nice tho because they helped me with a drunk friend of mine to put her in a cab!
