It is the only hostel in the city, as well as an old house, with gardens and antiques. Practically a home.
There is a restaurant with local food.
Al Marquesote provides non-smoking rooms, a bar, free WiFi throughout the property and a garden. The guest house features family rooms.
At the guest house each room has a wardrobe and a shared bathroom.
Guests at El Marquesote can enjoy a typical food from the region with love.

This hostel was a lovely surprise, an oasis in a busy city. The grounds of the hostel are beautiful and the owners are fantastic. The atmosphere created by Carlos is one of somebody who cares, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The included breakfast was delicious, as was the rum! Thank you for a memorable stay, it’s a shame it was only for 1 night.

Overall it was a good stay. Carlos is a very nice host and the hostel has a friendly environment. The beds were a bit older and worn down, more or less like sleeping on a wooden pallet. If you’re looking for luxury in Huehuetenango go stay at a hotel. This place is more for the folks who are trying to save a bit of money. The food was solid and the bathrooms were mostly fine.

We cannot recommend this place enough.
The hostel itself was quirky and humble, and kept very clean, offering food and drinks made on site for cheap.
However it was the hosts that made this place a home, not just a hostel. They laughed with us and treated us as friends, not guests. On our second night they lit a bonfire for us and gave us complementary snacks and beverages while we all sat around the fire.
Thank you so much for having us - our favourite hostel to date.
