Group Booking Terms and Conditions

Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card 4 weeks prior to arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Cancellation / No Show & Reduction in Numbers Policy

15% non refundable deposit required on confirmation

For groups of 7 people or more, we require one full payment 7 days prior to arrival. This will be charged to the card used to make the booking or through alternative card made by the guest prior to this period.
Cancellations or amendments for groups of 7 people or more must be made 7 days prior to arrival by email or the full booking value will be charged.

Additional Terms and Conditions

A code of conduct form is to be completed and signed by the group leader, either in advance or upon arrival. A refundable security deposit of £200.00 per group is also required (cash or credit card details), payable on arrival.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Junior / Primary School If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Hatters Manchester has now opened a new deli-diner and restaurant on-site called West Corner, open from 7:30am until 12am and offering the best in breakfasts, brunches, burgers and everything in between! Guests of Hatters receive 15% discount on food and drink.

Hatters staff are fun, friendly and would love to help you plan your stay by arranging tours and activities in the city such as the Manchester United and Manchester City Stadium Tours. Hang out in our new bar in the basement of the hostel and share your stories with the Hatters staff, meet the locals and find out all the great places and hidden gems that you need to visit during your stay in this great city!

Groups of 6 people or more will be contacted prior to arrival and are required to pay the balance of their booking and provide a security deposit . A completed Code of Conduct form is required for check in.

    Great location. Nice people working there. I stayed in a 10 bed female dorm which was okay. It was really hot the first night and the beds are quite noisy, which can be a bit annoying because when I arrived it was 10pm and the lights were out and I was trying to be quiet but the bed didn't really work with me on that. You can feel the springs in your back a little when you sleep. Breakfast was alright. The showers are a bit weird as you can't take your stuff in a cube with you but not too bad.

    All showers didn't run hot watter, so it was freezing cold. While the Hygiene in our room wasn't at best either. The excellent location does make up for a lot though.

    Niet te vergelijken met Hatters@Hilton. Bedden waren echt ontzettend slecht, matrassen hadden jaren geleden al vervangen moeten worden. E voelde aan alle kanten de springveren in je lichaam prikken. Daarnaast was mijn bed vies, er lag modder in. De douches en wc's zijn slecht/vies. Koud water, weinig waterdruk en geen ruimte voor jezelf (douchen). De sfeer was wel goed. Personeel was vriendelijk (receptiedames) mannelijke nachtportier is echt onbeschoft en onvriendelijk.

    Very poor cleaning. Litterally every door felt sticky and you could see dirty hands on them. Floor in the room was nasty, we slept with our bags on the beds because there was no place to but them beside the floor. Under the beds we found very old flipflops and loads of dust and even food leftovers. We were affraid to open the window due to its state and the few slats did not do any job at all. Broken glass on bathroom floor, next day still there. Toilets on 4th floor, we slept on the 5th..

    The fridges were dirty as crazy. The smell was horrible, something must have been rotten inside; toilets were all three days of our visit clogged. Staff didn’t take care of. We used the toilets of the coffee bar upposite. Here we could also drink good coffee, instead of the poison which was called 24/7 free coffee in Hatters. Bed cleaning was a nightmare. For several hours clean and dirty sheets were laying on the dirty Floors in the corridor. WiFi was out of order: Never stay here!

    What a filthy dump. Our room at the 5th floor could only be reached by an old elevator(as such no problem, beautiful, ironwork) though only staff was allowed to opperate. How about it from high to groundfloor. Ladies toilet one floor down. Kitchen? rrrrrrr. Mould in drawers, very filthy commune fridge. A stranger had just walked in. And started tolling a cigarette in the kitchen. Filthy all over. After our research there was another Hatton near by staff was frienly enough to refund us.

    Not clean, nothing is working, only cold water, no blinds, electrical lock of the door is broken, pool, footballtable and playstation are broken,... Worst hostel I have ever been to. Only good news is the cool bar under the hostel, however no sound insulation of any kind

    These were the most horrible 2 nights ever. The hostel is so old and dirty. MOLD EVERYWHERE. NO BASIC NEEDS LIKE A HOT SHOWER, the water was ice cold. Because of all this I had to call in sick today at work. Matrasses so bad that that the iron suspension sticks in your back and I almost couldn’t walk during the day out of pain. No curtains. Toilets seats so dirty that I didn’t go there. And all that for 70£. It wasn’t worth a single penny. It looked and smelled like a homeless shelter.
