General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through Hostelworld.com you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by Hostelworld.com and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on Hostelworld.com it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • Hostelworld.com are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card on arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Welcome to Island Life. Welcome to Furu.
Get a taste of life in the Arctic and join our community of travelers, outdoor lovers & locals.

We are located in the heart of Norway's Lofoten Islands, nestled in between the trees on the shores of Lake Steira. We love to bring like-minded travelers together and create a space where you can fully experience all the outdoor adventures on the islands.

At Furu you will find minimalistic and stylish dorms, private rooms and apartments. Our interior is inspired by the beautiful nature around us and each room has its own unique design with views over our lake or the mountains surrounding us. Our Café serves seasonal, locally-sourced vegetarian and pescatarian dishes which will fuel you up for all the adventures ahead.

We are a small team of outdoor enthusiasts and stoked to share our love for nature and life on the islands. See you soon up North at Furu.

Furu Hostel Policies & Conditions:

Reception Hours: 7:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and 7:00 to 00:00 Saturday and Sunday

Cancellation policy:
If booked with the standard rate and cancelled less than 7 days prior to the arrival date or in the event of a no show, the full balance of the booking will be charged.
If booked with a Non-refundable rate, no amendments are allowed and if cancelled no refund will be offered.
If in doubt what to do regarding a cancellation, please contact us via email or phone and we try to solve any occurring questions.

Check in from 15:00 to 22:00 .
For the Check in, please make sure to bring a valid photo identification with you, preferably a passport, government issued I.D. card or driving license.
If you arrive before, we can check if there is a room available for check-in, otherwise you can use our storage room to leave your luggage while exploring the islands. If you arrive after reception hours please let us know in advance and we will arrange your arrival for you.

Payment upon arrival:
Cash, credit cards, debit cards.
This property may pre-authorise your card before the arrival. The pre-authorisation is used to cover incidental items including (but not limited to) breaches of terms and conditions, breakages, damages to the property or cleaning above the normal level due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. The deposit will be released at the time of check-out, when the rooms have been checked and are in good condition. Please be advised that the time it takes to release the deposit depends on the guestââ'¬â„¢s bank.

Taxes included.
Breakfast not included.

Pet friendly:
It is in general not allowed to keep pets in the building. Non-compliance will be subject to a fine of NOK 2000 and we will ask you to leave the premises. A refund will not be issued for the stay.
Pets can be held outside and case by case can we allow you to bring a pet inside one of our apartments. We only have one apartment suitable for pets which has to be agreed prior to your booking. In the case that a pet is allowed to be in the premises Furu Hostel is not responsible for any injury, damage, loss or accident inflicted on any person or thing caused by the pet. The guest shall be responsible for any damage caused to FURU Hostel as a result of negligent or willful behavior on the part of the guest or its pet.
We at Furu love animals and dogs, but due to allergic reasons of potential guests, we need to be respectful in this subject. We will create an area for dogs outside where it can roam on a leash and breathe the fresh air.

Child friendly:
The accompanying adult must book a whole dorm, private room or apartment for any guests under the age of 18.
We do not accept customers younger than 18 years old in dorms.

Non smoking:
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the buildings. We have two designated smoking areas outside. Any guest smoking inside the building will be fined with NOK 2000 and will be asked to leave the premises. A refund will not be issued for the stay.

Accommodation:
If youââ'¬â„¢re travelling with friends or family, weââ'¬â„¢ll do our best to allocate you in a dorm room together ââ'¬" but this canââ'¬â„¢t be guaranteed. Please let us know during the booking process if you travel with friends and want to share a dorm. If you want to make sure that you arenââ'¬â„¢t separated from your group, weââ'¬â„¢d recommend you to reserve a private room, whole apartment or all beds in a dorm.
Please note that all our dorms are mixed unless a female only dorm is booked.

Guest Behavior:
Sub-letting of beds is prohibited. The beds are only to be used for the purpose of agreed accommodation. Furu Hostel does not allow parties in the rooms. Furu Hostel reserves the right to remove guests that creates nuisance or that do not follow the instructions. Furu Hostel reserves the right to enter into rooms if there is a need for it during the tenancy.
The comfort, safety and security of our guests is important to us. Furu Hostel reserves the right to refuse any guest(s) who, in the opinion of the owners or daily manager, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or residents and will be asked to leave the hostel premises and will not be given a refund.
Guests are expected to respect other guests as well as staff, residents and the property.

No Drugs:
Any guest found using drugs will be fined with NOK 2000 and will be asked to leave the premises. A refund will not be issued for the stay.

Alcohol and food consumption:
We will not serve alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
Guests cannot drink their own alcohol on the premises. This is against Norwegian laws and Furu Hostel could lose its license over such negligence. Therefore we have to keep a strict rule over this and we will fine the guest with NOK 2000 and will be asked to leave the premises. A refund will not be issued for the stay.
The same accounts for food consumption. We canââ'¬â„¢t allow you to cook your own food at the building and we will fine the guest with NOK 2000.

Liability for damage:
Guests will be expected to reimburse Furu Hostel for any damages caused by inappropriate behavior during their stay. The guest shall be responsible for any damage caused to Furu Hostel as a result of negligent or willful behavior on the part of the guest.
The guest shall be responsible for preventing fire, especially by ensuring that the panel heaters are not covered. Any negligence resulting in fire or an emergency call-out by the Fire and Rescue Service will be charged in accordance with the cost of any such call-outs. The residents are obligated to read the Furu Hostelââ'¬â„¢s fire instructions, which are placed in every room.
If any keys from Furu hostel are lost/damaged by the guests, we reserve the right to charge NOK 200.

Linen:
Bed linen are provided for all dormitories and rooms. We donââ'¬â„¢t allow guests to use sleeping bags or their own linen. Guests will be expected to reimburse Furu Hostel for any damages caused by using their own bedding or sleeping bags.

Personal Property:
Each dormitory has a personal locker for small valuables which we recommend you to use. All rooms can be locked with your personal key. It is a guestââ'¬â„¢s responsibility to ensure that personal belongings are secure at all times. Furu Hostel accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guestsââ'¬â„¢ property, however sustained or caused, unless such is caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of Furu Hostel.
Furu Hostel encourages all guests to carry travel/ home contents insurance in the unlikely events of such incidents.

Complaints:
Any complaints made by guests or the person making the booking shall be submitted to Furu Hostel in writing as soon as possible and no later than the day of departure.

Overbooking
In the unlikely event of overbooking, FURU Hostel shall undertake to provide similar services within the organisation or another company within reasonable proximity of the Hostel.

Force Majeure:
In the event of Force Majeure (governmental action, transportation interruption, terrorist attack, acts of Godââ'¬¦) affecting your booking, Furu Hostel is unable to refund customers and we reserve the right to receive any outstanding payments in connection to your confirmed booking.
Furu Hostel encourages all guests to carry travel insurance in the unlikely events of such incidents.

Liability:
Furu Hostel acts as an agent only for the offered activities or rentals. Thus Furu Hostel is not responsible for any injury, damage, loss or accident inflicted on any person or thing (including financial damage) caused by negligence or with intent from any such operator.
The agreement between Furu Hostel and the customer is not a promise of transport according to the Norwegian act of 24 June 1994 nr. 39 (sjøloven),thus Furu Hostel is not to be regarded as ââ'¬oebortfrakterââ'¬ according to the provisions in this act. acceptance.

Privacy Policy:
We ask for personal information in the booking request section. This information is necessary to ensure that we are able to make and confirm your booking. This information will not be used for any other purposes, and will not be shared with any other outside parties except for necessary information given to the parties involved in your booking (Activity providers etc.).
The personal information will not be sold or shared, and your email address will not be forwarded to outside parties.
Furu Hostel complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (hereinafter: GDPR). Furu Hostel will process personal data (as defined in the Act) in relation to Customers and Guests solely for the purpose of performing its obligations and exercising its rights in connection with the contract.

Errors and Omissions:
Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages/sites, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, dispatch note, invoice or other documents issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter.

Discretion:
All bookings are subject to availability and Furu Hostel reserve the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
